Smart voters VS Dumb voters.

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

I was greatly disappointed that Juan McCain won Florida today. I am not one to call names, but in McCain’s case I think there are exceptions:

But the race is far from over, as Paul Allen put it, “Romney can win this.” . As Ron Paul put it:

One would never know this from the mainstream media, but we’ve only had a few primaries and caucuses, and even after the extremely important date of February 5th, we will still have more than half to go. And the Republican nominee will not be decided by the popular vote among the “leading candidates” in a few states also handpicked by the media. The nominee will be decided by the delegates…

On “Super Tuesday,” February 5th, there will be 22 primaries and caucuses. I have a hunch that we’re going to do very well. But, of course, the media and the rest of the establishment refuse to recognize that. It’s the attitude of the small child who covers his eyes to make something scary go away. But we are not going away.

I admire how incredible Romney’s campaign is. If you have been watching from the beginning, Mitt has come from “long-shot” with no momentum to a flat tie for first. It is nothing short of incredible orginization, great financial sacrifice, and mostly hard work. Recently, someone asked if Paulbots (that is what they call people like me who support Paul) and Romneyites have a special kinship? Both are NOT treated fairly by the media. Because the two of them are my first and second choices, I have to say, I do have a special kinship :)

I believe that the final three candidates will be Romney, McCain, and Paul. Why? Romney will work hard and he can still fund his campaign (not just from his own funds). McCain has some momentum, but mostly the media just plain LOVES him (they run his bankrupt campaign for him). And Paul has the biggest grassroots campaign, he owns the Internet, and his supporters will fund him to the end (even after scandals like Louisiana, and literal media blackouts, we are still in this to win).

I wish I had more time to explain everything I love about Ron Paul, but I have to spend most of my time on our new website, www.pyxlin.com. So here is a short glimpse at the consistency and integrity of this man’s record:

  • Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:
  • He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
  • He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war (it was unconstitutional, how can we go to war without declaring it? we haven’t declared a war constitutionally since WWII, it is no wonder we haven’t won a war either).
  • He is pro-life!
  • He is a doctor and understands the Health Care system.
  • He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
  • Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

If you are smart you will vote for Mitt Romney, but if you are REALLY smart you will vote for Ron Paul.

Pyxlin – A New Way to Keep Your Personal Journal

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Last last night we finally launched the proper website for Pyxlin! I am very excited for this!

Considering that the ONLY concern of over 2000 people that we have surveyed was security for their personal journal online, this following statistic seems unbelievable! How could anyone feel comfortable with so much personal information on a blog?

A recent study showed that 37 percent of blogs are personal journals. Technorati’s most recent estimate of blogs world-wide is over 70 millions blogs! This means that approximately 25.9 millions blogs are used as personal journals.

Pyxlin is a much needed solution for many who don’t want to keep a blog for a personal journal, but also want the benefits of the Internet.

I have already been using Pyxlin for my journal two and one half years. I have never been better at writing in my personal journal in my life as when I have been using Pyxlin. I just thought I would write a quick blog entry about our new Pyxlin personal journaling website.

Record Turnouts & Tight Battles Hurt Ron Paul

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

I just read an article, Ron Paul, loser again. Here is my response:

I had little hope that Paul might do well when I first started supporting him, but as time moved forward my hope increased as the media reported on the lackluster of the GOP. I just figured that if no one cared about the candidates then no one would show up to the primaries. But the Paul supporters would show up, as they did, and hand Ron Paul shocking top three finishes in many states. Still a long shot, but there seemed to be a chance.

Yesterday, NH had record breaking numbers. If I had expected record breaking numbers, then it would have been obvious to me that he wouldn’t do as well. ALL the Paul supporters would have come out yesterday regardless of everyone else.

Instead we had extremely tight races on both sides of the isle. This put New Hampshire in an absolute buzz. On top of that the weather was perfect.

It was the drama between Romney and McCain that hurt Dr. Paul most. A close look at the Exit Polls shows that 28% of those who were “strongly favorable of Ron Paul” voted for either McCain (8%) or Romney (20%). Even worse, 73% of those that were “favorable” of Ron Paul voted for Romney/McCain. I believe that not only did droves of people dilute the support for Ron Paul, but everyone starts to vote against the candidate they dislike rather than for their first pick.

We have a group of Pentecostals trying to defeat Romney’s Mormonism (even Ron Paul suggested with Jay Leno that discrimination against Romney’s Mormon faith could cost him the race), some who would vote just so Huckabee won’t be in, and another group that doesn’t want Guliani. A lot of voters are voting to defeat the candidate they don’t want, and I think that is part of why we had such huge turnouts. Ron Paul’s supporters seem pretty pure in this regard, they certainly aren’t voting to just defeat others, they just want to vote on principle.

People don’t support Ron Paul overnight. I didn’t and I don’t know one person who has. His ideas take time to digest and understand. When you have bunches of people, scarcely educated on their candidate, you can assume they will vote for what seems most exciting, McCain and Romney. Many of these people didn’t choose a candidate until the last minute.

Ron Paul interviewed by Bill Moyer on PBS

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

Ron Paul started his campaign by appealing to those who are considered extremists and sound like the fringes. I am liking his more diplomatic feel lately. This is a great interview (if you are on facebook click here to see the videos on my blog):

Part 2

Part 3

Ron Paul VS Mike Huckabee—Why Huckabee is winning.

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

I laughed so hard at this. It is much more applicable now than when it was filmed (if you are on facebook please click into the article to see the video. I promise it is worth it.)

Sorry about the swear word.

Here is the original debate this first video was taken from:

This is a very interesting subject for me. It is one of the only areas that I struggle with. Although I feel that we need to phase the troops out so there is some stability, I completely agree with Ron Paul in that we need to bring ALL the troops home from Iraq. Currently we are building bases all over that region as if we are going to be there forever. I believe that building permanent bases in Iraq, and not COMPLETELY giving the Iraqis back their country, will bring the USA greater terrorist threats than almost anything we could do. They, and their neighbors are sick of the world’s Super Power sitting with giant guns and missiles pointed at their countries. If I was them, I would probably be doing everything in my power to fight back as well.

August Rush—Now A Favorite Movie For Me

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

My family and I just went and watched August Rush. I LOVED it! Maybe I am just feeling a little tender lately, but this movie was fantastic. It isn’t often that I recommend a movie, but every so often one comes along that hits my strings. I love music and I recommend the movie to anyone who loves music.
