Sarah Palin scares Chuck Norris
- She might just even up an otherwise landslide to Obama.
- It is a CHANGE that might just defuse Obama’s attempts to portray McCain as “more of the same”.
- Compliments from McCain’s greatest critics - even Ron Paul admitted this was a very politically savvy move.
- Softens hearts to McCain (even though I will not vote for McCain or Obama, it immediately softened my image of McCain).
- Pulls Hillary followers from Obama.
- A strong family mother will help make up for McCain’s lacking family life.
- The prettiest VP candidate in history (way prettier than Hillary and her “I want to dominate the world” look).
- Means we don’t have to look at McCain’s ugly old mug everyday.
- Will create the most viewed VP debates in US history.
- That we might just get a woman president after all, McCain is 73.
And gives us some very good jokes (got these on Mashable):
Sarah Palin Facts:
Little Known Fact: Sarah Palin is the only woman who can make Tony Romo WIN a playoff.
Little Known Fact: Sarah Palin would have just had an Eagle drop the Ring into Mount Doom.
Little Known Fact: The Arctic Circle runs through Alaska so the Sun can have some relief from Sarah Palin’s bright glare.
Little Known Fact: Sarah Palin makes Andrew Sullivanregret some key life choices.
Little Known Fact: Sarah Palin will send Biden a pre-debate cheat sheet. The sheet will have tips on defending against Kung Fu Death Grip.
Little Known Fact: If placed into Schroedinger’s experiment, both Sarah Palins remain alive.… and perhaps most frighteningly, this little known fact:
Just a side note, I believe that McCain was going to pick Romney if Obama had picked Hillary. I am sure glad he didn’t. I wouldn’t want the Mormon church to be represented in anyway by McCain’s unconstitutional policies.

McCain did virtually no vetting of Palin, he apparently isn’t aware that she’s a crook, not a reformer. Palin abused her power a governor and is now embroiled in an ethics investigation launched by the Republican-controlled legislature, the results of which will be released just days before the election. She claims her office had no role in firing the cop at the center of it all, but then tapes were released which proved her a liar. Palin replaced the police commissioner with a new person who had to quit in only two weeks because of charges of SEXUAL HARRASSMENT ??’ how about that, ladies? This is the third time Palin AND her husband have been caught abusing her authority to fire their enemies (once she fired a guy who had the gall to date the soon-to-be ex-wife of one of her husband’s friends) and McCain wasn’t aware of it. Palin was endorsed by crooked Senator Ted Stevens and was a director of the 527 group supporting Stevens, although now she repudiates Stevens. She is linked to the rest of the corrupt Alaska Republican machine, which she claims she reformed. Because her husband works in the petroleum industry, she promised that he would quit his job if she became governor, to avoid conflicts of interest. Then they broke the promise. TransCanada, the petroleum services corporation, persuaded Palin to approve a gigantic natural gas project; guess who her chief adviser is? A lobbyist for TransCanada.
Palin claims to be a big budget cutter, but it isn’t really true. She was incredibly lucky in her budget-making because Alaska’s economy was awash with money due to skyrocketing fuel prices, and when the big-box stores moved into her area, she simply grabbed the money by jacking up sales taxes, using consumers as her own private ATM. As governor she was actually criticized for not making more effort to slow growth in the state budget. Repeat ??’ she RAISED TAXES. Also, Palin the so-called cost-cutter wasted almost a million dollars trying to fix the Matanuska Maid Dairy, which experts had already told her could not be saved except by handing it over from state control to private ownership. She fired the entire Board of Agriculture and replaced them with cronies, in an effort to prove the experts wrong. At one point they paid farmers $200,000 to dump raw milk into the ground. In the end her effort failed catastrophically. To recap: she rejected the private sector in favor of government spending, she wasted taxpayer money, and she fired the people who were right in the first place because they dared to tell her she was wrong, replacing them with her buddies, who failed disastrously.
The most egregious example of her hypocrisy in claiming to be a reformer: the “bridge to nowhere”. When Palin was campaigning for governor, she insisted that the “bridge to nowhere” was essential. She went to Washington to fight for the federal money for it. A year later, when there was a national outrcry about the bridge, she blindsided her constituents by flipflopping and killing the project. Residents are furious, and complain that she announced her flipflop for purposes of national politics ??’ she screwed Alaska over so she could have a better shot at the VP job. Even Republicans in Alaska were offended when she appeared with McCain bragging about cancelling the bridge; one said she was pandering to the lower 48, and another said her 180 on the bridge project cost McCain his vote.
Some reformer.
Palin is an evangelical and a lifetime NRA member, who opposes same-sex marriage, who opposes abortion even cases of rape, who rejects sex education and insists on abstinence-only education, who wants creationism taught in PUBLIC schools, who thinks global warming is a hoax. Palin tilted more taxes away from the rich and toward working people, by cutting property taxes and raising sales taxes. Palin blocked a plan to protect salmon from contamination by miners: Bon appétit! She is in the pocket of Big Oil: she not only wants to drill in ANWR — she sued BUSH’S Interior Department for putting polar bears on the endangered list. She’s to the RIGHT of BUSH. She was not only a campaigner but also a fundraiser for ultra-Nazi Pat Buchanan.
Never in the last century, with the exception of James Stockdale, have we had a VP candidate who was so obviously unqualified and unfit for the office. Palin has a year and a half as governor of a state with maybe 600,000 people, a job she blundered into by sheer luck; before that she was a small-town mayor with a largely-ceremonial job. The probability of at least one gigantic gaffe during the election are dangerously high. Actually the gaffes are coming already: she actually said on camera “what is it exactly that the VP does every day?” Palin was asked her opinion on Iraq and the surge; Palin’s response was “I haven’t really focused much on the war in Iraq.” She actually thinks the Founding Fathers wrote the Pledge of Allegiance! She’s already claimed to be a budget-cutter, although she signed into law the biggest budget in state history: oops! Newsweek points out that she’s so unprepared that she’ll either have to avoid media questions entirely, which would be an admission that she’s unready, or try to “cram for the exam” out of briefing books. And since McCain has THREE medical conditions which could incapacitate him (melanomas, 6 of 10 warning signs of Alzheimers, multiple suicide attempts), there is a serious risk that this Twinkie could become Commander-in-Chief. The LA Times called her “Dan Quayle in drag”, but Quayle was actually more qualified than she is.
